X user @bioreconstruct has treated us to another stunning set of photos, offering a bird's-eye view of the progress. The Encanto-themed ride building has taken shape rapidly, with its steel framework growing taller by the day. It's an impressive sight, especially with the crane towering above, a constant reminder of the hard work and dedication of the construction team.
But here's where it gets controversial... while the Encanto ride building steals the spotlight, there's another significant development happening in the former Boneyard. A carousel is set to take center stage, becoming a key feature of the fictional Pueblo Esperanza village. This addition has sparked debates among Disney fans, with some questioning the choice to replace a beloved dinosaur-themed area with a more generic attraction.
And this is the part most people miss... beyond the main construction sites, there's a lot of behind-the-scenes work going on. Dirt is being moved, and early concrete work is laying the foundation for the new land. The concrete forms outline future walls and foundational elements, with steel pieces already standing tall nearby. It's a fascinating process to witness, especially for those who appreciate the intricate planning and engineering that goes into creating these magical Disney lands.
As we zoom in on the aerial photo, we can see the former DinoLand U.S.A. entrance, which will soon become the Tropical Americas entrance. The carousel will be a prominent feature in this area, offering a fun and unique experience for guests. However, it's bittersweet, as the remaining areas of DinoLand, including DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus, will soon close their doors forever. February 2, 2026, marks the end of an era, with the final day of operation being February 1.
But fear not, as the new land promises exciting attractions. An Indiana Jones-themed ride will take the place of DINOSAUR, offering a thrilling adventure. And the Encanto ride, with its Casita façade, will transport guests into the world of the film, extending the story beyond its original boundaries.
We recently got a ground-level glimpse of the progress during the Walt Disney World Marathon. Large construction vehicles and former DinoLand structures were visible through the fence, confirming the rapid transformation. Even some of the existing structures, like the bathrooms and Chester & Hester's Dinosaur Treasures, will be given new life in the new land.
There's also a signed steel beam inside the Encanto attraction, a testament to the hard work and collaboration of the Cast Members, including Jeff Vahle, President of Walt Disney World Resort.
